Wine Tasting Carisbrooke Style

We ended another great year with our third annual wine tasting dinner. All I can say is this event just gets better and better every year and is a great example of why I love owning this business. There are not too many jobs out there where you get to organize an event where the purpose is for people to have fun and relax. In the end everyone had an incredible time. I can't wait for next year's event.
The evening started at 5:00PM with a "wine clinic". Our guest wine host, Michael Labrum, offered a simple class in how to taste wine and the differences between different wines. It was a good way for our nearly 30 participants to clinically look at winetasting. After this the wine tasting dinner began with an antipasto tree and of course more wine. The group was eclectic, but 8 of our participants were here of a bachelorette party. They definitely added some spice to the party -- yes you girls know who you are. Our wine host, Michael, helped things along by making sure everyone's glass was always full (wait wasn't this just a tasting?). So, on the main course of Chicken Pizziaola and roasted pork tenderloin. Mmmmmm!!! In the words of Rachel Ray "Yummo" and it was. More wine came. By now we were into the heavier reds. One of my particular favorites was the "Menage a Trois", a great red table wine from California. By this point the crowd was really going strong all well fed and happy. New friends were made and plans for next year were being laid. Time of dessert. Homemade cannoli and an Italian cheesecake to die for. This along with a light fruity and sweet wine rounded out the night. All in all I would say a perfect evening. In total we tasted 14 different kinds of wine. Now we are planning already for next year which I expect to be even better.
