Starting Thursday, July 1st, through Labor Day, the Atlantic City Aquarium will offer daily program that includes a Live Diver Feeding Show at 11 a.m., feedings for baby stingrays and bamboo sharks at 12 noon and 3 p.m. and the Exotic Animal Show at 2 p.m.
During the Live Diver Feeding Show, visitors can watch, and interact with, a diver in scuba gear as he or she hand feeds the stingrays and sharks inside the 25,000 gallon tank. Visitors can then hand feed baby stingrays and bamboo sharks by purchasing bags of food for $2 (or $1 for members). The Exotic Animal Show features the Aquarium’s more unusual inhabitants. See the largest species of scorpion in the world. Touch the softest furred mammal in the world. Learn about these animals’ their native habitats, their suitability as pets, natural defenses and predatory instincts other interesting facts. The Atlantic City Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children ages 4-12. Children under three are free. Costs for each of these excursions varies per activity.
Visitors can also shop at a variety of places at Gardner’s Basin. ae’k Sents of Art showcases an evolving selection of African art, wood carved masks, leather masks, framed art, jewelry, crystal pendants and gemstones. There is also interactive spin art for the kids. Allen & Johnson offers a unique variety of shell crafts and gifts. The Aponi Gallery features photography and watercolor art. Galleria dei Leopardi showcases oil and acrylic paintings and handcrafted gifts. J&S Custom Crafters and J&S Custom Crafters Too specializes in handmade doll furniture, dolls and dresses designed for American Girl Dolls among others. Jenny G’s is a contemporary boutique carrying trendy handbags, belts, sunglasses, embellished flip flops and a designer-inspired line of costume jewelry.
