2010 will mark the first year for The Atlantic City Comedy Festival, but, according to festival organizers it is their desire that it will become a permanent fixture, just like the city’s storied Boardwalk. For two days, fans will experience tickle your funny bone fanfare, gut busting jokes and hilarious, side-splitting humor from some of the world’s most noted, critically acclaimed mainstream comedians. The All-Star line-up features ten nationally known comics, some who are leading film and TV stars, including King of Comedy D.L. Hughley, Queen of Comedy Sommore, Mike Epps (Star of the upcoming movie, Lottery Ticket), Don “D.C.” Curry, Bruce Bruce, and Earthquake, along with side-kick radio personalities J. Anthony Brown (Tom Joyner Morning Show) and George Wilborn (Michael Baisden Show) and buzzworthy new comics like Philadelphia native TuRae and Atlanta native son Mario Tory. From sold-out arenas, top grossing comedy tours, number one films at the box office, top rated comedy specials and TV shows, ground-breaking TV shows and specials, internationally and nationally syndicated radio shows, these comics have seen and done it all.
 
“In an effort to continue to marry the worlds of comedy with some of the country’s most sought after and desired travel destinations, Atlantic City became the perfect place for this union to take place,” stated organizers. “And what works better than to bring people from far and wide to Atlantic City for a great holiday weekend to hear some of the greatest comedians out on the circuit today, in one of the greatest resort cities the country has to offer. People get to laugh and let their hair down all at the same time.”
 
Throughout the year, organizers of the festival have spearheaded some of the most successful comedy tours, including The Royal Comedy Tour, which was met with sold out audiences from coast to coast and the Big Easy Comedy Festival, which also brought some of the comedy worlds best to New Orleans over Memorial Day Weekend in May. Hughley and Sommore appeared on and/or headlined both tours, as well other featured comedians on this year’s festival. It is the hope of organizers that the Atlantic City Comedy Festival will be met with the same anticipation, fanfare and success as the tours and festival that preceded it this year.
