Normally I never mention guests by name to maintain privacy, but for this entry I am thankful I have permission to do so. One of my long time guests, Linda Mann, who is from Ventnor originally is an artist. I had known this for a while, probably from brief conversation at happy hour or in passing during one of her visits. Running a B&B has taught me so many people out there pass in and out of our lives and we many times never get to see their hidden talents, their qualities, and accomplishments. For several years Linda had been coming to my inn with her family for a vacation and I never realized this quiet person possessed this remarkable talent. I realize everyone has their own particular taste in art, but for me I find her paintings mesmerizing with their realness and the assembly of objects she has chosen to paint. I am very glad she shared them with me to see and I hope all who read this blog go to her web siteto see her work.
Having her here and learning this has re-inspired me to organize some kind of artists week or weekend here at the inn sometime this fall, winter or spring. Somehow I would like to get a collection of artists to come here, stay and use some days to create something magnificent, learn from each other, and just get some recognition for the positive contribution they make to our lives.
