Group Wedding, Vow Renewal and Civil Union Ceremony in Atlantic City Sunday, February 14, 2010
(Atlantic City, NJ, December 11, 2009) -- The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority will host the third annual group wedding, vow renewal and civil union ceremony at historic Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 4 p.m.
“Atlantic City has a rich history of romance, weddings and honeymoons, making it the perfect venue for couples wishing to marry or renew their vows,” said Jeff Vasser, president of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority. “These couples will always have a special connection to Atlantic City and Valentine’s Day.”
The ceremony is free for all couples and their guests, and will be performed in the Ballroom in Boardwalk Hall at 4 p.m. The event will include a champagne toast, wedding cake and photo opportunities. Jean Muchanic, executive director of the Absecon Lighthouse and wedding officiate, will perform the non-denominational ceremony. Muchanic began officiating ceremonies in March of 2007.
“Joining lovers together is always a favorite part of my job,” said Jean Muchanic. “Performing a Valentine’s Day ceremony in Atlantic City at historic Boardwalk Hall makes it even more special!"
Couples must pre-register for the Group Wedding event at Boardwalk Hall through the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority’s official website at www.atlanticcitynj.com/group_tours/atlantic_city_group_wedding.aspx beginning Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Couples should register by Thursday, February 11, 2010. The website features event information and packages available for the couples and their guests throughout the city. All couples interested in getting married or united at the event must obtain their own marriage or civil union license. Couples must have a New Jersey license to get married in this ceremony. Couples can call their local vital statistics department for complete details. There is a three-day waiting period in the state of New Jersey for a marriage license. Boardwalk Hall will present the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball Championship March 12 – 14, 2010.
