It was a busy Memorial Day
Category Memorial Day Atlantic City Bike Tour Life's Too Short
The Summer season started in a great way this year. I look forward to this time because the city begins to get very active again, my neighbors all start to show up, and the weather gets beautiful. This year the weekend stared out especially well. Tom, a new friend stayed at my inn on his "Life's Too Short Tour". This is his bicycle trek from New York City to Santa Cruz California -- yes he is doing it all on bike. It's to remember his cousin who died recently. When I heard this story it really spoke to me. He spent the night here on Friday and the weekend got better from there.

My neighbors on the block all trickled in on Thursday and Friday to enjoy what turned out to be a beautiful weekend. The weather people kept predicting thunderstorms and rain, but it never came until mid day on Monday and even then it was for about an hour and then got nice out again. Sometimes I wonder if the weather people have jumped on the same doom and gloom bandwagon as most of the news these days.
We started the weekend with dinner Friday night at The Palm restaurant thanks to discount cards Sandy had. We had delicious steak and lobster there, but then the Palm is always amazing. I spent Saturday doing some much needed cleaning and organizing. I think I am farther along this year by Memorial Day than I ever have been. I enjoyed the nice weather and a great happy hour with my guests. On average I think this was the youngest overall crowd I've had at one time. It's strange how people who don't know each other, but somehow have a relating factor show up in groups. For the first time in a while, we were full, the place was buzzing and we had a building full of happy guests. Monday, everyone checked out and I had a small barbecue with some neighbors and friends.
